What is a provost?

The provost is the chief academic officer for the university. He or she oversees all academic priorities, activities and policies.

The provost’s office is responsible for MU’s 14 colleges and their schools, departments and centers as well as many other units that support academics:

• University of Missouri Extension
• Undergraduate Studies
• Enrollment Management & Strategic Development
